Fun & Entertainment
We always endeavour to provide a good mix of entertainment. But this year we’re upping our game with bigger and better and more things to see and do for all ages.
You can see more information on our lively and exciting arena displays in the Special Attractions page on this website. And this year we are adding a wider range of supporting stalls and sideshows.
Rare Breed Sheep Show
Sheep - but not like you've ever seen before. There are said to be more sheep breeds in the world than any other livestock species - 1000! And the UK with around 90 breeds is thought to have more than any other country. The Hannington Rare Breed Sheep Show will include some sheep you won't have seen before - Hebridean, Soay, North Ronaldsay, Gristone and others - some of which are endangered species.
There will be a small competitive show followed by a chance for you to learn how to handle the sheep. So, well worth a visit. Don't you think?
Everyone loves animals so this year we’ve brought fascinating Alpacas to our mix of farm and petting animals. We’ve also got cuddly Shetland ponies and Donkeys – who’ll be giving rides to the young visitors and Horse Drawn Occasions magnificent Shire horse the like of which you’ve probably never seen.
For the young
We have some attractions especially for the young and very young. We also have many sideshows especially suitable for young people and there’s a bouncy castle and fantastic slide that you’ll have difficulty in getting them away from. They certainly won’t get bored so you’ll be able to spend the whole afternoon at our Fair.
And for adults too
Plenty of stalls and sideshows for them too. Also some interesting craft demonstrations and outdoor pursuits exhibitors to visit. For music lovers, there is the renowned Hannington Silver Band, as well as country, blues & folk music throughout the afternoon and a beer tent where you can try a variety of artisan beers and ciders.
Among many other attractions there is a hands-on dog training and clinic arena, ferret racing – and a Fun Dog Show will be on through much of the afternoon. See our Fun Dog Show page if you wish to enter your dog or just come and watch the fun.
From bees to knitting to spinning to stick making. Some you’ll be fascinated to look at – some you might like to take up.

Outdoor pursuits and sports are becoming ever more popular and varied. It’s a great way for young and old to learn something new and to develop a new hobby or sport which could provide years of future enjoyment, reward and satisfaction.
We’ve invited a number of local clubs and experts to come and show you what they do, the equipment they use and how you can join and participate. Come and find out more about the thing you’ve always wanted to do but never got round to – or be surprised by the fascination of something you hadn’t thought of.
